In this environment I wanted to emphasize the use of lighting as it became the driving force of the composition, while also setting the mood and atmosphere. Although I learned quite a bit about lighting while building this scene, I equally enjoyed building the world in a way that allows viewers create a story from their own perspective.

Although supporting objects help flesh out the world, in this instance I believe that the lighting and textures work in tandem to help the world feel more alive and natural.

I played quite a bit with emissive lighting within Unreal Engine for this scene in order to get the feeling I desired, however using rectangular lights to light the scene from the beams would have also been a considerable option.
